Message from the Executive Director:

There are so many ways that we can make a positive difference in the City of Cleveland and I believe that if we can, we should. That’s what we are aiming to accomplish at Buckeye Shaker Square Development Corporation – working with incredible people in the neighborhood to make things happen that have a real impact: From organizing volunteers to continue to rebuild communities devastated by the housing market collapse, to figuring out how to reverse the commercial/retail decline along Buckeye Road, to finding ways to combat the perceived crime in the Buckeye, Woodland Hills and Larchmere neighborhoods.

My staff and I also believe in your power and desire to make a difference and today your commitment to participate in the revitalization of your community will be equally matched by my commitment to you, to strive for a better more prosperous community.

Every year, hundreds of you participate in our community meetings, workshops and educational training sessions with the single goal of developing life changing socio-economic initiatives.

Our Vision – To be poised for new growth, to broaden our neighborhood’s development and demonstrate a great place to live, work and visit. We have been through a lot together. Now the people who live in Buckeye and those who run major institutions here have come together to plan for a better common future.

Our Goals Are To:

• Continue to strategically position the neighborhoods of Buckeye area for housing market recovery.
• Boost the local area economy and improve the physical appearance of the area’s primary corridors through strategic investments.
• Create a physical and social environment that promotes education, health, neighborhood, confidence and marketability.
• Build on our cultural arts and entertainment assets and foster an environment that encourages and reward innovative entrepreneurism.
